About the LGPL component
The HEIC converter uses libheif, licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3. It is loaded as a separate, unmodified file only when you convert a HEIC photo. Its source code is available from the libheif project linked above, and you are free to replace it under the terms of the LGPL.
